WHY DOES A LIBRARY NEED FRIENDS?

A library is only as good as the community that supports it.

The Torrance Library provides a cultural, educational and recreational benefit to the community.

From the Friends of the Torrance Library book sales we ensure our library has the funds to provide community programs and services.  Tax revenues provide only the basics.

We hope you will join us as a member or a volunteer, make a donation, and come to our book sales.

One of our founding members, Burt Dobratz, has passed. We have a short biography in the In-Memoriam section of the Who We Are web page .
