WHY DOES A LIBRARY NEED FRIENDS?

Because a library is only as great as the community that supports it.

The Torrance Library is a cultural, educational and recreational asset to the community. Tax revenues provide only the basics. Friends ensure that our library has the resources it needs by raising funds to supplement programs and services.

We hope you will join us by becoming a member, volunteering, making a donation, and coming to our book sales.

In the Special Collection section we have a painting by Violet Parkhurst that was donated and is for sale to the public.  It is also on display at the main library.

Friends of the Torrance Library as seen on Torrance CitiCABLE, produced by Hope Witkowsky for Senior Scene, March 2015.
